Its activity is the most visible during "La Coupe de France", the most relevant event organized by this national association. It is important to keep in mind the fact that FFF is is charge to everything that is related to football in France, from professional games to amateurs and private matches.
The history of this government body starts back in 1863, when French people have found out what football was. There have come British people who immigrated to France and brought a new sport to be practiced on their new field. "The Scotsman", a famous local newspaper announced French people of the new British idea to open a football club. It was created by some gentlemen from Paris who announced the first events that were about to take part in Bois de Boulogne.
Only nine years later, the updated rules of football have been brought by some sailors coming from England, in 1872. Therefore, it gained a different aspect and a modern touch and thus it became more and more famous. Basically, immigration has had a great impact on the culture spreading, because it facilitated it a lot and it helped natives assimilate a lot easier new costumes. They did not feel pressed to love football, they were simply attracted by this new sport who was played in front of their eyes.
However, our suggestion is to return to French football.
"Ligue de Football Professionnel" is one of the main parts of "La Fdration Franaise de Football" . In 2006, the main characters of Ligue 1 were Marseille and Strasbourg. Apart from LFF, there are also other two divisions that are being taken care of it. By taking care, we refer to the whole organizing process and management that implies football games, competitions and evidence of the 46 clubs for professionals. These two divisions are League 2 and League 3.
The difference between these three leagues is that the first one is strongly relied to professional football and is the top part of the French football system.
